2024-2025 Sinking Cove Hunting Club Rules for the group ontop of Bear Hollow Mountain
*General
1. Membership by Invitation only. Annual dues are $130 (subject to change with lease
cost changes).
2. Only club members are eligible to hunt on this property. With the exception of a
member’s juvenile child/step/grandchild. When the juvenile must purchase an adult
license, they are then eligible to be considered for membership in the club.
3. All dues are to be paid by OCTOBER 25th each year for the next year’s membership
4. The camp is for member use only. When used you are responsible for cleaning up
before leaving. DO NOT leave garbage on the site. Tables/benches/chairs/etc. may be
built at camp.
Each year the weekend after Labor Day will be “Clean Up Day” unless otherwise noted
*ATVs And Motor Vehicles
5. Members will be allowed to drive on and park ATVs and Motor Vehicles on the main
roads (New Map is available) select logging roads and at the designated parking areas.
A member may also drive on the marked horse trails and logging roads to retrieve a
deer. If caught driving in any other area, you may be subject to forfeit your membership
and all paid dues.
6. Driving ATVs and Motor Vehicles on the main roads and selected logging roads
should be kept to a MINIMUM between the hours of (Daylight to 11 am) and also
between (3 pm to Dark). If you must drive between these times, be respectful of other
hunters and try to be as quiet as possible.
7. Motor vehicles will be allowed to park on the main road near the camp(on the hill at
the cabin) to load and unload ATVs. Do not block the campground road. The 3 roads
that leave the top are for game retrieval for ATVs. All other traffic on these roads is
limited to foot travel, bikes, and e-bikes.
8. You must have all necessary TN hunting licenses to hunt on the property
9. To help manage the deer on our property there will be a harvest log located at the
club cabin in the campground. All members are REQUIRED to log their kill in the
harvest log. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a fine for the first offense and
dismal from the club on the second offense.* If you forget to log your kill at the cabin
you can log your kill on the website provided you have an account. or you can notify
David Smith or another member who has an account and he or they can log it on the
website. (this will be temporary as on the next visit to the club you can then log the kill
on the kill log at the cabin).
*Harvest and Wanton Waste
10. Bucks taken must have at least 3 points on one side (excludes juvenile hunters).
The buck harvest limit is in accordance with TWRA rules. Doe limit will be set per year
(2023/2024 -2 doe limit)
Accidentally shooting a buck that does not meet the club requirements are not
acceptable however accidents happen and there will be no penalty for the first offense
but you must report the kill to one of the clubs admin (Glenn Biddy, Matt Davis or David
Smith) the 2nd offense will result in a 150.00 fine and dismal from the club on the 3rd
offense
*Shot follow-up and ethics,
11. All efforts must be made to recover an animal or to confirm a miss. don’t assume
because you didn’t see it drop that you missed. ask for help if needed.
*Food Plots and Baiting
12. Baiting with any agricultural products including peanut butter is prohibited at any
time! Salt Licks and Mineral blocks/rocks and mineral block enhancements like koolaid,
stump licker and persimmon blocks, etc are permitted as long as they are within the
state guidelines.
13. Food plots and micro plots are acceptable as long as not harm timber growth. we are
going to plant 5 or 6 additional food plots at strategic locations for wildlife enhancement
these areas will be marked on the map. you may hunt these areas.
14. Members are not allowed to hunt within 25 yards of a property line or within the
eyesight of another member.
15. When heading to a stand if somebody shines a light indicating he is on a stand, then
the member in the route must change direction. You may go around the member if you
circle far enough as to not interfere with the member in the stand
*Treestands, Blinds, Shooting Houses
16. Treestands, blinds, and shooting houses may be used on the property. To help
prevent trespassing on the property, members’ first and last names MUST BE VISIBLE
on their stands or blinds. all stands not labeled with members’ first and last names will
be REMOVED from the property.
17. * Three treestands/blinds maximum per person, this is about treestands and blinds
that you intend to leave after your hunt is over or for the entire season. you can have all
three as treestands all three as blinds or a combination of treestands and blinds but not
to exceed a total of three. If you have three on the property in various locations and you
want to use a climbing stand or another pop-up blind you may do so as your 4th
stand/blind but may not leave them on the property after your hunt is over unless you
remove one of the original stands or blinds. anyone’s treestand will be available for any
member to use as long as the owner doesn’t intend on using it.and you have permission
from the owner of the treestand or blind
18. You may not erect a stand, blind or shooting house within the eyesight of another
stand or blind unless both belong to you.
19. Shooting houses will not be considered owned by any one individual. Shooting
houses are not to be placed in the wooded areas. only on shooting lanes (skidder
roads) and food plots. If you want to construct a shooting house it must be approved by
the group.
*Trail Cams
20. A member may use as many trail cameras as he or she wishes from Jan 15 – until
the Friday before the opening day of the Tennessee gun deer season. after which he or
she will only be allowed three cameras during the Tennesse gun deer season.
21. The club is for all members, if we each do our part, it will be an enjoyable place for
us all. If any of the above rules are violated, you may be asked to return your
membership and forfeit any paid dues. If a member who has been dismissed has a
camper or any other belongings on the club property, you will have 30 days of
notification to remove your property. Any personal property not removed within the
30-day period will be forfeited to the club.
